Home Health and Rehab at Epworth Villa

“Oh no,” not “rehab therapy.” Men don’t usually like to need home health care or physical therapy. We much rather be doing something else. However, there came a time when I had to realize that I was no longer young and invincible. I was getting older and beginning to fall apart. It was time to say yes to home health and rehab therapy. I said “yes” to “oh no.” I have had two total hip replacements, two hip revisions, one knee replacement, and two total shoulder replacements.

New Floor Plan at Epworth VIlla

We are excited to introduce to you The Glenbrook model apartment. It is a new floor plan that we have recently introduced at Epworth Villa. It is a 1 bedroom, 1 bath apartment that includes a built-in home office and an open concept floor plan. We designed the plan with a more modern look by creating an open kitchen, using pendant lights and subway tiles in the design. Read More

Upcoming Stroke Symposium

Join us for the upcoming on January 20th for the Stroke Symposium: Part 2 hosted by Dr. Tomás Owens, M.D. He will educate us on the diagnosis and treatment of strokes. Rev. Robert Rose leads Vespers

The Reverend Robert Rose will be the guest speaker at the Vesper Service this coming Thursday afternoon. Reverend Rose is an ordained elder of the United Methodist Church and has been preaching since he was 16 years old. He is currently the senior pastor at the First United Methodist Church in Guthrie. Prior to this, he served as senior minister of the Chapel Hill UMC in Oklahoma City.
“I Will Bless the Lord” is the title of the anthem which will be sung by the Villa Voices. Read More

Women's Coffee

Every month our ladies are invited to attend a women's coffee group where we have a guest speaker to present on an interesting topic. For this months special program, the gentlemen of Epworth Villa are invited. We are in for a treat as the New Year starts off with a trip to Cuba. Some of our long-time residents traveled with the Cameron University “People to People” program to visit this small, isolated, controversial island. Read More

Card Bingo

For the foreseeable future “Card Bingo” will be played in The Bistro on the second Sunday of every month. If you haven’t joined in this activity, you have missed an hour of fun. Gather some of your friends,

Sunday School, "The Most Beautiful Bride"

Our Sunday School theme for this week is, "The Most Beautiful Bride."The print passage (Song of Songs 6;4-12) is probably more commonly known as the Song of Solomon. ”Song of Songs” may mean “the best song”, or it may indicate that this is a collection of songs. The mention of Solomon could mean that it was written by Solomon, written about Solomon or simply collected in the time and under the influence of Solomon. Read More

Rev. Max Rudd leads Vespers

The Reverend Max Rudd will be our guest at the next Vesper Service. Reverend Rudd has lived in Oklahoma his entire life. He grew up on a farm south of Altus and attended the local schools. He began graduate school at Oklahoma State University and was appointed pastor of Lost Creek and Eden Chapel United Methodist Church south of Stillwater in 1976; and that charge separated into two appointments in 2004. Upcoming trip to Oklahoma History Center

Thursday, January 7th
The Oklahoma History Center Celebrates their 10th Anniversary with a New Exhibit,
"Crossroads of Commerce"
Resident will enjoy an upcoming trip to The Oklahoma History Center. The 8,000-square-foot exhibit tells the story of economic development in Oklahoma through five time periods --- 1716 to the present. In each section, the exhibit will set the stage of history with the challenges and opportunities that ended one era and began another. Read More

Sunday School

Sunday morning, we will begin Unit 2 of the winter quarter – ”Four Weddings and a Funeral,” – the story of the family of Abraham. There are more twists and turns than a soap opera! Martha Myre, author of the Teacher’s Guide Materials, writes that she once preached a sermon series on Abraham’s family called, “Dysfunctional Families in Genesis.” Read More

3. Light your path at night.
